Brain & Spine BarcelonaHOW I ASSESS YOUR CASE
A sound decision starts with understanding the whole picture. Imaging is one part of the assessment: it needs to be considered alongside your symptoms, examination and how the condition has developed.
Together, we review your imaging and relate it to your symptoms, examination, medical history and previous treatments. I want to understand what is happening and how it affects your life.
I explain the surgical and non-surgical options relevant to your case. We consider what each can offer, its risks and limitations, alongside your circumstances and goals.
We clarify what comes next: further assessment, starting or adjusting treatment, follow-up or preparing for an operation. If surgery is needed, we discuss preparation, recovery and subsequent reviews.
I want you to understand what we aim to improve, the alternatives and what we can expect from each option. When surgery is appropriate, we discuss its purpose, risks and limitations, and the steps involved in recovery. When it is not, we clarify how to continue with treatment or follow-up.
